I currently go to dallas county community college.

I have 3.74 GPA, and don't have extra curriculum.

I want to transfer to McComb business school.

I've heard that they require very high GPA like 3.8 or something.

Can I get into UT McComb with my 3.74 GPA?

Also, I'll get associate degree this semester

Typically schools have strict cutoff points for undergrads. If it is 3.8, then they mean 3.8. What I would suggest you do is email the dept and make sure that they are strict with the 3.8 first. If they say yes, then apply to another program within the school, perhaps liberal arts or something that has a lower GPA requirement. After going there for a semester, transfer from the school of liberal arts to the business school. It is much easier for students within the university to change their major that way. You shouldn't have a problem at all doing that. good luck

Yeah, I think you can. You should talk to a counselor at your community college and tell him or her that you want to transfer to UT Austin. They should be able to help you out more and tell you what steps you need to take in order to transfer to UT Austin.

I dont thin you need a 3.8 to transfer to UT, but its better to have a GPA that high because it would probably give you a higher chance of getting in. Lets face it, you probably arent the only one that wants to transfer to UT Austin's business school (McComb is one of the top business schools for undergraduates in the nation) and having a higher GPA makes you stand out a little more from the rest.

Hi. I ended up going to Texas State in San Marcos. (I am not back at The University of North Texas) UT did not accept me even AFTER I had my Associates Degree from NCTC.. and my GPA was a 3.0. I was bitter... but found that UT Is overrated..parking outrageous.. and UNT actually has a MUCH better department.

I may be wrong, but I doubt they require a GPA of 3.8. That seems high for a transfer to me.
Contact the school and find out.
