I've come off HRT patches but the hot flushes and night sweats have returned. If I keep on having disturbed sleep, I'm going to revert to the mad axewoman I was years ago before I got HRT! HELP! I restrict myself to one cup of tea upon awakening, one cup of good coffee mid-morning, and a maximum of 2 glasses of red wine in the evening. I don't use sugar and seldom eat anything using refined flour. I've heard Rose Hip and St John's Wort can help. I'm prepared to do almost anything to get through this and out the other end with my sanity intact! Only, when will it all end? Please, someone out there, tell me it won't last forever!

My Gyno told me it could take as many as 20 years to get through menopause. Why have you gone off HRT? You may want to reconsider or get the opinion of another doctor. My doc is great. She is a woman about my same age so she really does understand the discomfort and insanity of menopause. She has me on Compounded Hormones to include testosterone, estrogen, and progestrone. Every woman is different and we should not be expected to each take the same dosage of hormones. My doc did a test to find my levels and then brought them back in line with a specialized HRT.

I suffered from hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). Tried everything my doctor told me. My hyperhidrosis was so bad at times that I wouldn't go near crowded places, let alone sit in restaurants or go to the cinema or theater.
Until I found the information on this site: http://stop-sweating-now.keysolve.net

It helped me in ways that I still cannot comprehend; this is truly remarkable. It's been 7 days since I completed the basic Sweat Miracle program and my hyperhidrosis is gone without a trace.

I am a qualified Herbalist and I can tell you that HRT doesn't sort out the menopause problems, it merely delays them.
Now that you are off HRT the demons are coming back to haunt you and that is a miserable prospect.
I can't recommend anything here without taking some details from you, if you would like to email me, I'll be glad to help.
Hormone inblance needs professional help and I can give that.

Read the book "preventing the menopause" How to stop menopause before it starts, by Beth Rosenshein. "Cheating time" and "Designer babies" by Roger Gosden, In these book Gosden argues that the greatest ageing part of a woman is her fertility, he says how strange it is when men age in every other way much quicker.
You maybe thinking well you have already started the menopause, but things can still be done. Women should not have to suffer like ,as natural things are often bad. One hundred years ago the average woman was dead before the menopause. I want my fertility all my life and I am going to make sure I have it. Campaign for more money to be put into this field of research. Men can have children to a later age than women, and yet women live and in most other ways maintain their youth longer. Women's fertility is the greatest ageing part of a woman. In the future they should be able to reverse the whole thing, so even women who have been through the menopause should be able to have children again naturally, and have their own hormones back. Keep of HRT it is made from mare's urine, you should have your own hormones all your life, so fight to save them. Write to your MP and ask them to put more money into this field of research, it is becoming more and more important as more women are reaching those horrible years. Not all women have menopause problems my mother's periods just stoped one day when she was 52 and that was it. Even if you don't have problems with the menopause we women should have the rights to keep our own hormones all our lives. You should not have to suffer like this, so get the Government to put more money into research, no woman should not have to suffer like this. Hormones keep us healthy and fight of diseases, we women should be able to have our hormones all our lives. All science has done for women is extend their old age, because we having longer time after the menopause when we should be having a longer time before.

When you drink your cup of tea do you put honey in it? Is it regular tea or green tea? One other thing do you force yourself to go to sleep or do you wait until you are tired? Try dinking Green tea with a drop of honey, don't go to sleep until you are real tired, stay away from a clock, and do not do anything that keeps you awake. Find something that always makes you tired (reading a book, listening to the radio, doing puzzles, etc.) and do that til' you get tired and go to bed. That is one of the reasons I sit here and answer these questions at night. They some times make me so tired I can't help but go to sleep. There is one catch though always make yourself get up at the same time eveeryday.

I heard that Black Cohosh helps but not for me, I stayed on HRT as it's the only thing that really works. You could try progesterone cream which apparently works for a while.
