You might also want to note that cholesterol located within the phospholipid bilayer is what makes the membrane fluid like. This fluidity then allows transmembrane proteins to move about the membrane.

This model says that we believe the cell membrane is like a fluid and like a mosaic. The membrane is like a fluid because the phospholipids move around each other freely. The membrane is like a mosaic because the proteins make a pattern in the surface of the membrane.

I hope you let more people try to do your homework as number 16 is most definitely NOT glucose but rather a derivative of it. Try looking it up yourself, it seriously would not take you that long. Just do keyword searches.. like for number 16 google liver and carbohydrate storage. I don't mind helping when people are stuck on just one or two points but twenty-one parts? And Holiday Homework? Meaning you've had since before Christmas to do this and are now panicking because vacation is almost over?

The membrane consists of a lipid bilayer, which is made up of phospholipids, with their non polar heads facing the outside of the bilayer, and their hydrophobic tails inside the bilayer, giving this structure a lot of stability. The bilayer studded with proteins that can either be transmembrane, or just associated with one half of the bilayer. Due to the fluidity of the lipid bilayer, these proteins can move around the bilayer (not through it). Also associated with the bilayer can be carbohydrates and glycoproteins. This site describes it well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cell_membrane
