HI

According to microsoft , NO , it should not delete the files , BUT in reality first create a folder on the C drive and put the files there , then do a system restore

In case you accidentally erased system files upon the transfer process then YES the System Restore will override any corrupted system files. You should note that System restore works only with Windows System Files/ Drivers etc. It doesn’t works with program files or documents. Previous or performing the system restore you must create a new “Restore Point” just as a safeguard. You should also disable your antivirus during the restore process. I hope it works for you!

The My Documents folder is the only folder Windows will not alter in a restore process.
If data loss is an issue, you should look into getting maybe a usb hard drive that can do complete backups of your computers.
If you do decide to get an extra drive just for backups you can always return here for advice on how to set it up...... Hope everything works out for you.

If you used your system restore on your home computer it should do nothing to your laptop. System Restore cleans out space you don't use to give you more free space, to help speed up your computer. The only way to delete anything on your laptop is from your laptop or deliberately removing it.
