The most plausible theory that's pretty much supported by lunar samples from Apollo missions is that the earth got hit by something about the size of mars. Some of the mass fell back down to add to the earth and some stayed in orbit and formed the moon.

That is the best guess is that the moon was born in a violent event where a comet or similarly large object hit the earth and ejected enough material at just the right velocity to create the moon. This would also explain why it is slowly pulling away from the earth and will eventually excape earth altogether.

that dude knew what he was talking about to a point..

noone knows for fact, but the latest moon birth theory points to a cataclysmic collision between Earth and a smaller planet in the birth stages of our solar system.

think of it as interstellar pocket pool..

the planet that collided with Earth disintegrated and formed rings around Earth, similiar to the rings on Saturn. However, after millions of years the materials coalaeced into the moon.

when NASA went to the moon and brought back "moon rocks", they were stunned to find that they resembled earth mantle rocks.

The Moon is an artificial satellite inhabited by advanced beings who will move away within 50 years causing the Earth to be torn apart by gravitational forces. Lets hope and pray I am wrong about this, as Earths destruction would eventually destroy the rest of the Solar System, due to its material bombarding the other planets and of coarse our Sun as well !

The most commonly accepted theory among astronomers is that during Earth's early days when it was just several million years old, another object about the size of a very large asteroid hit the earth, causing debris everywhere. Some of this debris recollected and became the moon.

I don' know, perhaps you could Wikipedia "moon origins"... perhaps the moon was a bit of broken up planet or star floating around space and due to it's mass and size was able to be pulled into our earth's orbit by gravity without being sucked all the way in and burnt up. Any of the answers you read however, will be speculation, cos no one was around to see how things were actually formed...
Good question :)

It is a piece of earth knocked away after a collision with a big "asteroid" during the very early days of its existence
