In early history cave men went out hunting and women cooked what was brought back.
Generally society has progressed from the times where the roles of men and women were apparent.
For a man to even question whether he should learn to cook or not indicates a condescending attitude towards women. In modern society the household tasks should be shared equitably between the man and his partner without one taking a superior, controlling stance.
Also, cooking is more than throwing a few ingredients together. A person who knows how to cook and what to cook can plan a diet that is nutritious, tasty and healthy.
LEARN TO COOK.

Some of the best chefs and cooks I have ever worked with were male. It is a way for your creative side to really come out and take hold.

Also, girls really love a guy who can cook good food.

Plus, if boys don't learn to cook what are they going to do when they live by themselves or with their mates? Starve, eat out...go to Mum's...wouldn't it be better to be able to cook for yourself?

Do they eat?

YES! Boys should learn the art of cooking that way they will not be unprepared when wife leaves town and they have the kids.

Also good male cooks are a valuable commodity.

Do you mean boys as in boys in middle school?

Yes, in middle school we had a class where we learned how to cook simple stuff, I thought it was a good idea.

Besides, all men should know how to cook, helps with the ladies.

Isn't that a basic life skill, like learning to dress yourself or bathe yourself? I think that anyone who claims not to know the basics of cooking is either deliberately acting dumb or needs to stay living with their mommies (who obviously babied them too much anyhow).
I would consider cooking to be anything that is above microwave skills. Like oven and stove skill.
If you are speaking of culinary arts (the hard core cooking), that field is generally dominated by men.

You must not be from the United states or are from the city. Country boys learn how to cook from their fathers and their fathers learned from theirs....Mothers too of course. I suspect a religious aspect of the supposed feminine quality of cooking as "Womens work".

If they want to eat something other than fast-food, yes! Also, learning to cook is a lot cheaper than supporting the woman that you think will be with you and cook for you! So.... good luck with that!

There are boys and men out there that cannot crack an egg open properly. Males in general should learn a little something so the word pathetic and dependent doesn't come around too often.

Yes, to me, I think it's only fair because that way, when they're married, their wife can relax and let her husband cook as well! :) Not to mention, in general, it's only natural that almost everybody should attempt to learn how to cook. This relates to basic cooking or even more exotic.
