To control dandelions and clovers on your home lawn the turf and weeds must be green and actively growing to be most effective. Apply on a sunny day with moderate temperatures, no wind, and no rain in the 24-hour forecast. There are now many different active ingredients available for broadleaf weed control. Be sure to select a product that has at least two if not three or more active ingredients to maximize efficacy and spectrum of weeds controlled. Active ingredients can and should include a combination of 2,4-D, MCPP, MCPA, dicamba, triclopyr, fluroxypyr, carfentrazone and/or sulfentrazone.

In the US Atrazine has been classified as a Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) due to its potential for groundwater contamination. RUPs may be purchased and used only by certified applicators.
It might be a good idea to contact your extension service or a university in your area before applying any herbicide. There a lot more restrictions on herbicides for home lawns than for industrial uses, on farms, golf-courses, etc.

Spray liquid atrazine on the areas that are infected with weeds. I've always told people to never buy weed & feed fertilizer. It's not a high enough rate mixed in with the fertilizer. Read the lable before you mix and apply on your lawn. I think 2-3 ounces per gallon of water.
You also must water it in after the application. You risk buring your lawn if it's applied when temps are over 85 degrees. Weeds won't die over night, be patient. Good luck.
