John Kerry does not know what the truth is, it's nature or where or how to find it. Everyone has to find their own "truth", which is dependent on one's perspective.

i think he just said that so that everyone would recall that line from "A Few Good Men" (you want the truth?! you can't handle the truth!) etc.
i think he just wanted to sound cool so it would boost his image
