I bought a house with her when we were together. Now we aren't together, but we have to see each other everyday and she's still in love with me. It's been 7 months and I've had another girlfriend since then that I didn't bring home when she was home out of respect. Now, I have a new person that I'm talking to and (in a drunken mode...) I gave details about this new girl to my ex. It turns out that my ex works with this new chick and described her perfectly and said that nobody likes her at work and that she's obnoxious. I like the talks we've had (the new girl and I) and I respect the opinion of my ex and have seen some of the annoying ways of the new one. Should I accept the date I've been offered?

It seems to me the best way to judge someone is first hand, more than by what others have to say. What if you were passing on your future happiness? Good luck to you.

should you follow your ex's advice you may lose out on something really great. The worst that could happen is the date goes wrong right. No harm done and lesson learned. Concider your options and do what you feel is right.

Don't talk to your ex. All it does is cause drama. Drama is bad.

Go out with the new girl. If she's annoying, stop going out with her. Do you really care if your ex finds your new girl annoying?

I would say yes. Your ex, although it is good you respect her opinion, never the less has a biased opinion.

Try before you buy. It's your own mind that needs to be made up based on what you know, not (exclusively) from what others tell you.
