You may be experiencing a new relationship, new career path or new adventure, but you doubt yourself in the choices and decisions you have made about it. (Feeling that you’ve made a mistake.) You’re experiencing a desire for freedom, high ideals, ambition, and hopes, though, as some new idea is taking off or is ready to take off for you. (Airport)

To dream that you lost your passport, indicates that are are trying to find yourself and get a sense of who you are. You feel that you have lost your direction in life or that you have lost sight of your goals. You may be feeling worried and insecure about the path you are taking in life. Alternatively, you may be trying to adjust and get accustomed to a new situation in which the rules and conditions are ever changing. On a symbolic note, losing things in your dream may signify lost opportunities, past relationships or forgotten aspects of yourself. Your personal associations to the thing you lost will clue you into the emotional meaning and interpretation of your dream.

To dream that you are missing something, denotes a sense of being out of control and being disorganized. Your anxiety is keeping you off-balance. In our daily lives, we tend to ignore, deny, or repress our feelings. But in our dream state, our defense mechanisms are no longer on guard and thus allow for the release of such emotions. Crying in a dream is a way to regain some emotional balance and a way to safely let out your fears and frustrations. In other words, you’re crying out to regain some emotional balance.

To dream that you are late, denotes your fear of change and your ambivalence about seizing an opportunity. You may feel unready, unworthy, or unsupported in your current circumstances. Additionally, you may be overwhelmed or conflicted with decisions about your future. You feel time is running out and that you do not have time to accomplish all the things you want. You may even feel that opportunities are being close off to you.

And where do you go– home, because home signifies the security, basic needs, and values you feel safe, settled, and comfortable in that environment. Going with your gut feeling is another way of saying this.

The heartache you felt signifies that you feel that you are showing too much hesitation in pursuit of your business deals and someone else will profit from your ideas, and yet you are striving for truth and courage (and possibly even in a love and romance). It is representative of how you are currently dealing with your feelings and expressing your emotions.

Also consider the saying "the heart of the matter" which implies that you may need to get down to the core of a situation before proceeding, which may be the emotional struggle that is upsetting you.

Flight.
To dream of flight, signifies a sense of freedom where you had initially felt restricted and limited

Airplane

To see an airplane in your dream, indicates that you will overcome your obstacles and rise above to a new level of prominence and status. You may experience a higher consciousness, new-found freedom and greater awareness.

So this might be why your upset, you were about to overcome an obstacle and instead you went back.

This link might help you understand your dreams a little better.
Normally writing down your dreams will help you understand them and also starting your own dream dictonary.
As some meanings might not fit you.
As in i might hate cats, you might like them. If i dream of cats it wouldnt be a pleasent dream and if you dreamt of them you would have a happy dream.
So this is why most say to do a dream dictionary yourself.

I added the link for dreammoods.. they are really good for a dictionary if you get stuck on different items.
I hope this helps.

Could it be that you have issues at home or about your home, that are making you feel like you are being held back. (The Passport left at home). And you have fears that you are going to miss out on something, some sort of big opportunity.(Missing the Plane). You feel smothered, you want to get away, breakout perhaps (the airport).

but mostly so you can rearange and gather your thoughts. And
then you might want to consider a Career change or a change
