This is not to be done lightly. It is a permanent mutilation of your body, and it's close to impossible to get back what you've lost if you change your mind. See http://www.norm.org

Most women prefer natural, uncut men: http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/60750.html

I've been told that the pain is excruciating for weeks, especially when you have an erection. Just try not to have one!

Examine carefully your reasons for wanting to do this: If you are really into pain, piercings are easier to undo. You may think you want this done now, but in five years there is a very good chance that you will bitterly regret your decision. This should be considered a "for life" decision, and you are only 17 for a year. You may have 70 years or more of wishing you had left your body as God/nature intended.

How old are you? If you are able to pull your foreskin and keep the inside part of your foreskin clean...you need not circumcise...if you want to do it for medical reason go ahead...once you circumcise your foreskin you can never get it back as original and it is a big process. Circumcision is a simple operation and pain doesn't lost longer..it is safe if it is done by a good surgeon....read about it @ http://www.cure-guide.com/Child_Health_Guide/Circumcision/circumcision.html

It should be fine. Lots of men get circumcised at an older age. I don't know much about pain "down there", but my dad had a vasectomy in his 40's and he didn't have any pain afterwards. But I'm sure the Dr. will give you something after the procedure, if your worried you'll be in pain. And he'll probably tell you how to care for it until it's healed. Make a list of questions to take with you, so you won't forget to ask anything.

It'll retract as you get an erection. And it's supposed to be super sensitive. The penis is the most sensitive spot on a man's body and the reason why we're born with foreskin is to keep our penis from rubbif against everything and making us **** in our pants.

Yes, you can get circumcised at your age but it will be painful for awhile after the surgery.

Talk this over with your doctor before actually getting it done.

There is harm nowhere in circumcision at ur age. It will hurt u for approximately 4-5 days. But u must specify the reason for the same, coz if u have any ailment regarding ur penis, u must have come up with the facts. I pesonally suggest u to see a doctor, if u have such problems like STDs. Coz the treeatment of the same is inevitable. U need not to expose it to everyone but to understand the fact.

Hopefully it isnt wrong to answer your question since it is medical and not sexual,Im very cautious as to how I interact with minors and since you are 17 I guess it is acceptable for you to seek legitimate advise as long as the answer is appropriate. My son wasnt circumsized due to something I wont get into, but when he was 1 or so I tried to have it done and was told that it would be cruel. The pain is unbareable the Dr said and new borns who have it done dont suffer as much and do not have a conscience awareness of what they are going through when its done. The Dr also said its not good to put him to sleep it and the pain isnt good for his heart being put to sleep is dangerous and should only be done if necessary.Babies arent put to sleep when its done.I dont know how important it is to you to do but i advise against it maybe Dr will also.

the main reason that this is done at birth is that there are less blood vessels and nerve endings at birth so you may have some pain and a little more blood loss than the normal 3 day old but other wise you should be fine just be ready to keep it covered with vasoline till everything is healed

I got circ'd at age 48 and never regret a thing. Being older it took a few weeks of being uncomfortable. I remember getting home and looking in the mirror. It was like having a brand new penis! When my gf saw it the first time, she went "Woooooooow!!!! I had it done by a woman uro. It only took an hour and was completely painless. You won't regret it.
