Yes. This is a mild example, but it's the most recent one I can think of. My friend bought me a drink and food, totaling like 3 dollars. I had eaten all my food and was about to drink the very last of my drink and she took it from me. I really needed it cause the food was like sticky and I needed to wash it down, but she wouldn't give it back because "she paid for it, so it wasn't really mine". That pissed me off.

No. Not many people do favours for me, if they do they are friends or good people, they will not hold it over my head. I always want to return the favour, but some of them seem like a missing person, I just want to treat them to dinner and red wine.
^_^ take it easy

totally annoying - people dont seem to understand love. help what you can, and dont put yourself out incredibly in the hopes of holding it over someone else's head - being neighborly isn't a business propsition.. it's promoting love.
if it's that big a deal to help a person out that you think you can hold if over their head - then make a contract, or get paid or somethin... holding things over ppls heads because you felt like helping out - is insane. make it a legal business transaction if you're gonna do that @#$%!
*i'm incredibly caring/generous - and i'd never consider holding @#$% over ppls heads* -- you might need to beg for help with a project, but you have NO right to demand it because you were nice in the past.

Oh yeah. Strangely, it was stuff I never asked for in the first place. People have offered to help me with things and then turned around and used it against me in the future when they've wanted something from me. It annoys the hell out of me since I never really needed their help in the first place, I just accepted it because they offered. I've been very vocal about that when they've tried to make me feel guilty about it and I have no problem pointing out that I didn't ask for the help. People like that make me afraid to ask for help even when I really need it.
It's usually that they helped me with something simple like carrying groceries (an example) then they turn around and make me feel guilty that I won't lend them $1000. It's usually an unequal 'trade'.

Favor is a favor. I am always grateful and I don't feel bad if they do. That's why people are willing do things for me again and again.

I hung with too many freaky Italians (almost Soprano type, ah, not that bad, maybe) --- nothing 4 free --- even the smiles cost ya.

Yes, it is like they are racking up credit in advance, usually to use at a most inconvenient time!
