Or are we just slaves of fate and karma, with the paths of our lives immutably pre-ordained?

I think we are given choices of different paths to take, sometimes it seems like it doesn't matter what you do, something isn't working. We tend to chalk it up to 'bad karma' or blame others. I think we have choices in life, some make the right choice and some do not. I think we have a predestined "WIDE" path. If that makes sense.

Yes, some people see the glass half full, no matter what they go through.they still think positive and press on turning around a situation. Others see the glass as half empty all the time and never notice the things that go right, because they are too busy looking at all the negative.i dont know if it is the way were born or lifes cicumstances, but many people go through a lot of awful stuff and still seem to stay positive. Im sure believing in God and prayer helps.

Lots of things are beyond your control. You have to react to the circumstances to optimize your happiness. Anyone who believes
that outcomes for their lives are pre-ordained are damn fools and are almost invariably losers. They blame fate and bad luck on their misery.

Yes, it is what we make of it. In ALL history, there has NEVER been ANY verifiable evidence to even suggest that fate or karma exists.

Life is totally what you make of it; I have never believed in "fate." I have always been the captain of my own ship in life, and charted my own course, and been happy with the result.

There are a billion random factors that may come to bear on your plans, but that doesn't negate making them.

If we don't like something about our lives, it is up to US to make the choices and changes necessary.

I have never sat and "cried in my beer."

life is where you get put to figure things out. there has to be a reason that people are alive.
I would guess that peoples lives are not governed by fate because they have to be able to screw up and not accomplish what they were put here to do or to succeed.
who knows what that is though

Both of them. But the role of fate is more, it's superpower. Fate leads us how to make our lives

even if we are slaves of karma we have the power in us to make our lives better under all circumstances with hardwork, righteous living and determination.

life is often what we think it is than what it actually is. its a manifestation and result of our thoughts and actions.

fate and karma are based on what you do and how you act therefore you make them and life in itself. we decide.

Karma doesn't take slaves...it just paves the trail you blazed for yourself.
