This is America -land of the free, remember. So, because the Dixie Chicks have an opinion that differs from yours that makes it "bad behavior". Like them or don't like them, but the Grammy's are based on musical performance and obviously many people like them or they would not have won.

For a country that claims we are fighting in Iraq for freedom, people sure seem to have a problem with allowing freedom for each individual to be their own person with their own views.

Were you happy with every other person that received a Grammy. Probably not.

What do you mean 'bad behaviour'? Because they dared express a political opinion? And since when are popular music groups only supposed to engage in 'good behaviour'? Have you ever heard of the Who or the Rolling Stones, for example? How bizarre.

The Dixie Chicks won because they are popular group which have sold lots of records. They also happen to be (unusually for Grammy winners) talented musicians.

in case you had to take a seem at this from a various perspective...those awards shows do seem to place a top classification on communities or performers that have conquer adversity, made a comeback, and so on. The Dixie Chicks have been surprisingly plenty airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dust a pair of years in the past. they have bounced back. i'd assume that replace right into a attention...alongside with the Grammy's being political of path.

Nope. I was very disappointed when I found out that they won 5 awards.

Ok, they did some great things politics wise this past 12 months, but the Grammy Awards is meant to be about the music, and in my opinion their music just isn't very good.

I was Very ticked they Won. But than again, They give those awards for their Music, not what they are against for being politically outspoken. I hate their Music, and Natalie Maines is a very tasteless individual. Especially when she said " In the famous words of The Simpsons ' Ha Ha' " that was Absolutely Uncalled for.(EDIT). So they won. I watch awards shows religiously. Hell I don't like Bush Either. I just don't like them. Even before her comment against Bush. Doesn't mean the comments during the show weren't tasteless, because they were tasteless. The Fat Chick needs to just shut up and let the other two do all the talking.

I absolutely agree with the Chicks winning those awards. Politics and freedom of speech issues aside, Not Ready To Make Nice was one of the best songs of the year. I believe the awards are well deserved, because they dared to voice an unpopular opinion. They were ostracized for it, but this is their vindication.

Are they Country & Western...??

If so, I agree that they should win an award for their category, but NOT 5 Grammys!!

(This answer was not just because I have no interest in C&W, I just don't think their overall vibe as band / group qualifies for 5 grammys.)

B.

Bad behavior? Just because some people don't approve of it does not make it bad behavior. Regardless of what they have done or said in the past they won those awards based on talent. Even if you don't agree with them or even if you don't like there music. If they won it they must deserve it. Right?

I think that they are talented artists but I was not impressed with their last album. But it's clear that the quality of music doesn't matter anymore. The grammy's are beginning to turn in to just one big political party. Im not a big fan of Bush but I do think that the way they went about expressing their feelings about him was completely low of them. I mean OK so what if you don't like Bush but don't go over to another country and start talkin crap about him. Be a man about it and say what you have to say in the USA. Even tho im not a big fan of Bush I still think that he deserved the right to defend himself, but by them going to another country, there wasn't much he could do.

But apparently there are ALOT of people who agree with their childish behavior and felt they needed to be rewarded... Maybe someday people will start thinkin with their knowledge of GREAT music, and not with WRONG actions again.

I personally don't care for them at all. I don't like their music, and I agree with the person who said that Natalie Maines' comment was uncalled for. She has no class and just made herself look stupid.
