It is not "Podis"--it is "POTUS". It is an acronym (the initials that stand for President Of The United States"). It is a shorthand way for government and security officials to speak of the President without actually mentioning his name or title. Until some television shows, such as "The West WIng" started using this acronym, most of the public had never heard of it.
Incidentally, the Vice President is referred to as "VPOTUS", which is pronounced "VEE -- POTUS ".
