You should go to Williamsburg and Jamestown, Va. It's the birthplace of America! They have all those things you are looking for; candlemaking, glass blowing, historic sites and replicas, old fashion food. It's a great place for children to learn American history and learn about the original settlers in America. Williamsburg is an historic village that was restored. So all the buildings look orginal and the employees there walk around in character wearing old clothing and stuff. I went there on my 8th grade school trip about 10 years ago and enjoyed it a lot. There is so much history there and it's all interactive, not just boring museums and artifacts to look at, but real live action type stuff that gets you involved and shows you what it was like back then. It's really good for kids and will help teach them about and make them appreciate America and our history. And after spending a few days there Washington DC is about 3 hours away I think, so you can go there for even more history, although not quite the hands on stuff you'll get in Williamsburg and Jamestown.

~~ There are many "Old West Towns" scattered around the states.
I have been to a couple and enjoy seeing how our ancestors managed before us.
It is a great thing to show children.
~~ This was one of my favourite towns, I have taken the blurb directly from their website (I'm not that descriptive):
Welcome to Fort Smith, Arkansas -- future home of the U.S. Marshals Service National Museum!
Nestled in the heart of the Arkansas Ozark Mountains, this famous Old West Town is an exciting travel destination.
Fort Smith, Arkansas, uniquely combines the history of the wild and wooly "Old West" with the gentle charm of the antebellum "Old South," offering travelers of all ages glimpses into its distinctive past through restorations, attractions, museums, and festivals that make its history fun and exciting. Now an energetic city of 80,000 people, Fort Smith is known for accommodating visitors with a blend of "southern hospitality" and "western openness" -- anxious to share its past while yet busily planning for the future.
In working hard to preserve and promote its diverse history, the city of Fort Smith has become a significant site for gatherings today - vacationing single families, tour groups, reunions, business meetings, and conventions.
The Fort Smith National Historic Site, our unusual Visitor Center at "Miss Laura's," local museums, antique shops, architectural restorations, outdoor attractions, riverboat or train excursions and other varied activities all combine to give Fort Smith visitors a chance to experience the excitement of our diverse past as one of the historic Old West Towns located in the heart of the Arkansas Ozark Mountains.
For much more information on Fort Smith:

~~ I'm certain you and your children would enjoy it.
Of course if your not wishing to travel to Arkansas (I don't know where your starting out from), just do a google search for old towns or forts.
You will find them in just about every state.

there are a number of stuff to do in Las Vegas for the kinfolk. some lodges mutually with Excalibur and Circus Circus actively seek for the kinfolk enterprise. Las Vegas isn't a infant friendly holiday spot. in case your little ones are 10 years previous or youthful you've got some issues. manhattan manhattan, Sahara, Circus Circus, and Stratospher have curler Coaster and thrill rides. M&M and Coca Cola have places on the strip, as do many arcades. You temporarily neglected celebrity Trek, that's being relocated downtown, yet there continues to be motel swimming pools, Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, King Tut's Tomb at Luxor, journey of Kings at Excalibur, Bellagio Fountain prepare, Cesar's Palace Statue prepare, Treasure Island (T.I.) that's definitely the main person orientated kinfolk pirate prepare ever, stay Volcano at Mirage, Gondola at Venetian, and final yet no longer least.....you gotta see Mac King Comedy Magic at Harrah's. that's much less high priced and has afternoon exhibits. in case you reside at some lodges like Excalibur they have $25 all you are able to consume all day buffets. Excalibur and Circus Circus are kinfolk friendly yet no longer actual notch lodges. I propose you reside at MGM Grand and basically spend $24 each and each for 3 day endless passes on Monorail tickets. that's a lot greater trouble-free than any different thank you to locate the strip with little ones.
