Here is just a basic idea you could work with that could help you get an idea and possibly find your own story.
A guy and a girl begin dating.
After a period of time, the girl believes she loves him and believes he loves her too.
She then finds he is cheating on her. (Complication)
She breaks up with the guy and moves on. (Resolution)
This is very, very basic and is not in the perfect story style, but it may help give you an idea of something.

How about writing about a problem you see at your school and a resolution to it.
For example: the cafeteria sucks
Problems: many students leave campus and may not come back or skip the period after lunch, if there is not enough food options students get poor nutrition, lunch should be a break and if it's not a good atmosphere it can stress students out instead of allow them to relax
Resolution: More lunch choices with free food and food to buy,
Kinder lunch staff and a more pleasurable eating environment, add special desserts to encourage students to eat in the cafeteria
- You would have to research how the school could get extra money to do this, how have other schools accomplished this goal

you could go along the lines of being a good student and a new term starts, you have trouble with a certain class, it decreases your GPA (complication), you find a tutor, dedicate more time to doing homework, do extra problems (resolution)
having an issue with a friend (they got mad at you for something), you went and talked to your friend and now everything is great (resolution). that is a very simple one
you could go on a world level:
world discovers how to use fuel to power the machines and live in the world we live in now
complication: we are on the verge of running out of oil (therefore can't procduce gasoline for cars, prices rise) running out of coal (can't heat buildings, houses etc)
resolution: investing in research of alternative fuels/discovering alternative fuel sources (vegetable oil to power cars, like its done in some parts of Europe)
