Can I cut my poinettia back? I've had it for 2 years, it's getting pretty leggy and never been outside.

You can cut it back about halfway. Keep feeding and watering it like usual. October 1st cut it back again and start putting it in a closet, or somewhere where it will get absolutely no light, for 14 hours a night. Give it 10 hours of light a day. Everything that grows from this day forward will grow in red, or whatever color it is. Take it out for the holidays and enjoy. Afterwards start all over again.

You certainly can, I cut mine back to about 2 feet when it is finished flowering, it will grow thicker as well as flower better next year
