I have to say I don't agree with you. I know several senior citizens who are vibrant, and full of joy. Certainly things slow down as we age, and the body is something that deceives us from time to time, but there are plenty of people in their 70's 80's and 90's who will tell you that a lot of it is attitude and mindset. if you're feeling down, perhaps you need to seek some medical advice, our brains age, and depression can rob us if we aren't careful. But like my 82 year old, tennis playing, 3-20 minute miles/day Dad says" Every day above ground is a good day!".

haha i guess everyone goes through this phase. if we're allowed to term this feeling a phase. but i guess its also because we were once too passionate about life. when we were still young. we'd go all over the place, do all sorts of things, things we're allowed to and things we're not allowed to, get a taste of forbidden fruit. but even forbidden fruit can become tasteless one day. if we keep tasting it, dont you agree? one day, we'll all be tired of what we've been doing, because we're been doing it for so long. the thrill wears off. so i guess thats why as we get older, life seems nothing to as anymore. another point of view is that our bodies are no longer as capable as when we were younger. we no longer have the zest and the energy to be those wild lil things we once were. everything kinda becomes mundane from us. cus as we age we've been through processes that we've been through since young, we see things we've been seeing for the past zillion years, so i guess we dont really give a hoot anymore.
does that ans your question?

Life should not matter less as we get older and I don't find that to be true. With age should come wisdom and a capability to help others.

Because our once youthful perspective has changed, we see the meaningless activity of trying to impress others, wearing expensive clothes and our hobbies are different. I guess its called growning up.

But not anything around us but everything w/ ourself seems to have no meaning, anything we do its just like plain.
I'm freaking out.
Is this like a stage you go through? everyone goes through it?

i think its the material things, like modern clothes and stuff, that becomes unimportant to us and that other things, like people and special places and times, that then become important
