I live in houston texas. it is a humid wasteland of strip malls apartments and bad roads. nothing but disgusting people.
A couple of years ago i went on a trek out in the desert of New Mexico/Arizona.
You could see forever... the same colors everywhere as the sky and land faded into the same distace. I stood up on a mesa for four hours looking out into the desert... i really want to go back there where i was all alone in the desert. Has anyone else ever been to the desert? i guess i want you to share your thoughts on it...
maybe i will go to live in the desert

I live in the desert (Tucson). It's surrounded by mountains, desert area, beautiful scenery. Lots of great hiking and mountain bicycling trails. It's an affordable place to live. Come on down! :)

When I first moved to California from Kentucky (also humid!), I liked the dry air immediately. Then I started hiking in the mountains and fell in love even more. It took awhile to get used to the desert terrain surrounding the mountains, but now I really appreciate it. I recently wrote about Death Valley (sort've the desert to end all deserts!) -- it has many beautiful features, but you have to take the time to see them. Good luck deciding where you want to end up :)

I used to live in the new mexico desert. If I wasn't so in love with new england i would go back. probably one of the most beutiful places on earth.

I love the desert. I've only driven through it, but i wish i could go they're ore often, i live in california with wide open spaces. That's what gets me, is wide open spaces. I love them, the ocean, vineyard, desert. I love it all.

There's desert country there called "The Najd" which is well named.
"The Najd" in Arabic means "The NOTHING!"
