why didnt take laxman in to world cup?

He is a Good Batsman, but lacks in his fielding....He is not electric in field and thats the main reason he missed the bus(flight) for the world cup

due to his poor fielding at every position except slip and incosistent batting form of oneday internationals(slow starting at every innings)....
