I have removed the wheel!

I Do let it out everyday so he can play. The wheel broke the cage so we had to take it off. I am planning on getting a new one.

Yea, it will grow back just fine. My little one just had surgery and it's growing back, slowly but surely. I'm not sure how the hair was pulled out, but you might try a wheel called a Silent Spinner. It's all plastic, which leaves little for a chins hair to get caught on, and it doesn't rattle like a metal wheel does. My girl loves hers. We got it at a regular pet store, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

My Chin's did it took a while but it grew back. Make sure to put a sand bath in for him at least every other day

It should. But don't keep your pet from exercising. It needs exercise. Maybe you can get a bigger/better wheel.
