Do you go to bed every night knowing that you will wake up the next day, without a doubt. Truely believing that the world will still be here and everything will be realitively the same? And if you do, What makes you so sure?

I think that many of you have missd my point. People so often take each day for granted, and do not live life to the fullest. They spend too much time with the BS and forget to live and love. Personally I try to live every day like it could be the last. I dont want to miss anything!!!!

No, that is why we should (even though we don't) make the best out of everything.

I don't believe in tomorrow. Everytime it gets close, it turns into today.

Some people don't have the ability to live every moment to its fullest because they have to work (at some pretty mundane thankless jobs that they may detest) in order to survive. Or, you go to university to make your life the fullest it can be by working in a field you love. So you give up some things you'd rather do in order to learn the math you hate so you can understand your discipline to the depth you require.

If we all lived life like it was the last day of our lives, not a whole heck of a lot of stuff would be accomplished. It'd be fun for a while until the stuff we didn't want to do bit us in the butt.

So, I do have faith that tomorrow will come, and that those sacrifices I make today will make my life in the future fuller.
But while that is happening I can still laugh, love and enjoy every little blessing.

Peace

Yes, I believe in tomorrow.

When I go to be I have to act as if I am getting up the next day and continuing my life. I have made preparations for my death (a will and a living will). I am not married so it won’t be a disaster for anyone (except maybe for the person who has to clean up the mess afterwards).

If I didn’t expect to keep going on with my life then I would be locked in fear. I would have to try and get everything I want to do done all in one day. I couldn’t make future plans and after a few weeks I would worry myself to death about it. I don’t do that, I don’t let myself fall into that kind of trap.

Besides what can I do about it? Earth has been hit by dinosaur killers, it will be hit by one again, and it may happen in my lifetime. Astronomers are searching for those asteroids and are ready to warn people if there is a threat, but some of those asteroids and comets aren’t seen until after they have already passed Earth. Currently there is no technology that we have to prevent a collision with the Earth. NASA and other people are working on it, but they haven’t gotten there yet. Throwing a big nuclear bomb at an asteroid wouldn’t work it would just change its course a little (if we caught it in time that might be enough, but we can’t send a nuclear weapon that far). If you landed on the asteroid and ran a full survey on it then you might find the fatal flaw like they did in the movie Armageddon, but the chances of that are so slim as to be laughable.

I have worries and concerns, but I don’t obsess over it. Some day I will die, I have reduced my cholesterol level and I have my high blood pressure under control, I am even working on losing weight with some success. I see a doctor at least once every six months and I am working hard at doing the best I can with my life. I have accepted the fact that one day I will die, no one lives forever, I am doing what I can to improve the odds, and that is all that I can do about it. If I worry about it I am only going to increase my stress and make the problem even worse, so I try not to. Besides if I worry about it will it help me in any way? I am doing what I can to make sure I can live a long life, and to avoid getting hit by an asteroid so worrying about things like that is only a waste of time. I worry about the problems I can solve, like how to fix my computer memory problem or that I need to clean up my desk. These problems I can solve and are worth worrying about.

So worry about something that you can deal with and control and your life will be a lot happier.

As for what makes me so sure that I will be alive tomorrow, well it has worked for 47 years and I have a great aunt who is 104 and still alive so I am willing to bet everything I have that I will wake up and be alive each day. Of course if I lose the bet then I won’t be around to care any more so it is a pretty safe bet to make (as long as you don’t try to come to my home at night and cheat on the bet by murdering me).

hmm, i guess you're just a tad worried about dying suddenly, yes? well, dont. if you're truely worried, why not just live your life to the fullest everyday? tell those around you you love them. it doesnt hurt to do so everyday. afterall, you'll make their days too. im not sure whether i'll open my eyes tmr if i close them the night before. i just dont think about it. dont give yourself opportunities to regret what you've done or not done in the day, and go to sleep with ease at night. i dont believe that things will be the same from one day to the next. life changes. each and every single moment. of course, the world changes too. for the bad i suppose, with all the gloabl warming and wars and everything. but tmr will still come. if you allow yourself to believe it will =) cheers!

It is impossible to believe in tomorrow when there is only today.

The fact that one goes to bed at night and expects to wake up the next morning and have everything relatively the same is quite human. It means that one is alive. I am sure only because the sun continues to come up and nothing has proved to me that the sun won't come up tomorrow.

Tomorrow never arrives. It is always today. Always.

Because there was a yesterday and the day before, I can expect there is a tomorrow, whether I am there or not. Changes are rarely as dramatic as to expect an absolute turnaround overnight. Life is more about episodes than epochs.

In short, yes!

This is one that maths can answer with the law of probability. Have a search for it... but in short, assuming that the world has been ticking over for the last million years without a global disaster, the law of probability states that it will still be ticking over tomorrow.

If anyone genuinely did not believe in tomorrow, he would be as good as dead..... for life is really the scope of today and the hope for tomorrow!!

We can be sure of nothing and life teaches us quickly enough to live with uncertainties.... more importantly, it is because of the ever present uncertainty that we can hope for tomorrow to be better than today.

I think that many of us take tomorrow for granted. Either that or we are too busy worrying about other things.

Of course. It follows a regular course and the chance of it happening are nearly certain. Skepticism does nothing to shake this belief.
