This is a serious question. Please help. What would you do if you told everyone you know you were gay, lesbian or even bi, but inside you feel like you have a gender identity problem? That you were actually born the wrong gender? How can you go back to everyone and tell them you think you may have gender dysphoria? I think thats what its called. Im not confusing gays, lesbians, or bi's as being or having a mental disorder. Im gay myself. Im sorry if you misunderstood my question. I just like to get some advice on this matter. Thank you so much for your help.

This is really a question for a good therapist, not your friends. There are plenty of therapists around (you don't have to spend a lot of money, some work on a sliding scale payment plan); you don't even have to go every single week if you find a therapist who can handle that. If you don't feel a therapist has a good grasp of the issue you are describing, you can be frank and ask for a referral to someone who specializes in that kind of question.

sounds like that is the case gender dysphoria is real and you might want to talk with a doctor about this. some people are borned the wrong gender, and go most of their life stuck in the wrong body. i know part of me wants to be female.

I think I feel the same way, I'm gay, and I feel like a women inside... Just tell them that you feel like a women on the inside, I'm not sure who you told, or how you told them. It also depends on how much their educated on gay's, because a lot of gay's and lesbian's feel like their the opposite gender inside.

This happens a lot. You didn't realize what was going on with you. it takes time to figure out who we are. I would find some therapy groups in the area where you can talk with people who have had the same issues... or even find a chat online. I'm sure people who've had experience with the same things will have good advice for you.

If you suffer from gender identity you would know you are not gay/lesbian or bi. If these people are your friends, tell them that you were wrong, they will understand.

I understand how you feel(even though i am a little kid).At my school, everyone makes fun of gays, lesbians and homosexuals.I thought this was really sad cause one of them kept calling me a gay @$$...Its not a mental disorder, its just you instincts and we are not born the same.(im not really gay or lesbian but i know how you feel)

I'm no expert in this area, but the "LBGT" initials indicate to me that being gay is NOT the same thing as being "transgender" which is what you seem to be indicating by your comments. You need to talk this over with a bunch of your friends - the nice ones that are sympathetic and kind to you. Best wishes.

What you need to do is sort your own mind out before you start justifying yourself to anyone. Sure share your feelings with those who are close and you trust. However as for telling everyone - it's your choice, but I would say feel comfortable in who you are and then others will come to realise you are who you are, whatever that might be.

It's all part of the spectrum of queer. You (or the hypothetical "you" of this question) wouldn't be the first person to come out as gay and later establish an indentity as genderqueer or trans.

I've known or known of plenty of transguys who started out as butch lesbians.
