When Arafat started his campaign. It was'nt about the USA.It was wholly and absolutely about Israel. He never attacked any US buildings or property. The USA used her place in the security council(UN)to stymie every resolution against Israel. The USA was Arafat's immplacable enemy, yet he did nothing to merit this treatment.Whether you believe it or not,he had every right to try to drive the isrealis out of Palastine. The UN gave the state of Israel a piece of land. Now they have a piece of land of everyone of her neighbours. It's time to put the real terrorist back onto her own territory.
Mandela is the finest statesman on the face of the earth.Imprisoned for acts of terror.Released, did he seek revenge. No only justice and equality for his people. When this man dies(hopefully not for a long time)every crowned head in the world will be there as will every statesperson in the world. This will be a homage to a great man.Not by pomp and ceremony.Purely by represetation

That shows the depths to which the Nobel Peace Prize has fallen. These days the best way to get that prize is to attack the United States. I'm sure Alfred Nobel is spinning in his grave.
There can be no doubt that Arafat not only was a terrorist, but the father of modern terrorism.

Someone considedred a terrorist by one side is considered a freedom fighter by another. The term terrorist means anyone who terrorizes a population using indiscrimate attacks. Arafat was a terrorist by the methods he used, but his people thought of him otherwise. These days it al depends on who is doing the reporting.

That is why I have no respect for the noble peace prize.
The other prizes are ok because they are handled by a different group, but until revoke it from Arafat it has lost all respect in my eyes.

Example Osama bin ladin is a terrorist for the west and USA while he is a hero amongst many Muslim's, so maybe after 20 years Osama may also get a peace prize who knows.

Alfred Nobel invented dynamite, and you are surprised they give a prize with his name to those who would bomb things.
The real question is why do they call it a "Peace" prize.
