I am a recent graduate of an RN program. I am preparing to take the state boards. I feel as though all the material I learned over the past two years is nowhere to be found in my brain. To try and go back over all the material would be a good idea but, there isn't enough time. Please if anyone could offer me so type of seroiu strategy I would greatly appreciate. I would like to here from some recent people who passed the ENCLEX. Also if you haden't took it recently your imput is just as valuable. Do anyone know of any great NCLEX books. Stressing out here in New Jersey. Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you.

Wow good luck and congratulations on your great achievement. To study with a friend sure helps, a fellow student.

Most of what I found on the web was sites that wanted to charge you something.

I did find this one website written by a nurse with lot of good points.

Hope this helps and good luck.

I took the RN boards 11 times before passing. I tried everything, Hurst review, Sauders, Kaplan review, but they didn't help because they didn't focus on the 'Select All That Apply' questions that you are bombarded with on the NClex. Then I did an internet search about studying for those type of questions, and then I found this book: www.amazon.com/gp/product/1609133072/ref=cfb_at_prodpg 'Alternate Format Questions'. I studied the questions in this book for a few weeks, took the RN exam for the 11th time and passed. I owe it to this book.

There are nifty skinny books called "Springhouse Notes". Most of your professors lectures come right out of these little books. You can purchase them in the large bookstores at Universities with Nursing programs. There are several. These are the ones I recommend:
1. Fundamental Nursing Procedures
2. Community Health Nursing
3. Maternal Newborn Nursing
4. Fluids and Electrolytes
5. Pediatric Nursing
6. (sorry) there's a Psych one, too, but I can't remember it.

Also, get your math and nutrition down. Focus on Psych. Up to 1/4 of the test will be psych, not the details, but how to react in different situations. Just relax, think about who you were before nursing school turned your nerves to jello, and answer psych questions as you YOURSELF most wisely would. As for the Springhouse notes, they really condense and put the important stuff in a nutshell. Get your math down. (Did I say that?) : ) Good luck!
