Samsung d500 phone question!?

Does it matter if i change the chip to some other phone as long as its samsung? or does it have to be tmobile to tmobile? cause i'm getting tired of my phone and i was wondering if i can switch it with my friend which is cingular.

is the chip you are refering to same as SIM card ? If yes, then check if the phone was given free by your mobile carrier. Normally if they provide you with the phone (under contract) then they locked it in to their own network.
