Some interesting information about a new Navy amphibious assault ship, the USS New York, that has been built with 24 tons of scrap steel from the World Trade Center, which was felled by terrorists on September 11, 2001.

i think it is a wonderful tribute. the steel used from the towers was ceremoniously added, with great reverence. i've seen the ship and it is an awesome sight.
God Bless the USS New York!! The ships motto is "we will never forget".

Sounds like a lot of hard work went into this project. I'm sure the Navy will appreciate the tribute.

24 tons of steel is tokenism , half the bunk beds would weigh more,24,ooo would have been a statement.
