I have been using it for years. I think it is much better than IE. It is more secure and you can customize it greatly using extensions. The only disadvantage, if you can even call it one, is that it doesn't support active-x. Active-x has historically been a huge security problem for IE though.

Firefox is by far the best browser, it is fast and easy to use. I have
a iMac OS X Tiger and Firefox is better than Safari, my wife has a
Windows XP, so I know a little about Microsoft‘s browser. I use FF
for Yahoo and Safari for Gmail. I have been using Firefox ever since
their first version 1.0 and from then on I have installed all versions
released. Also, have taken on every trial version (RC) from the start.
This means that I have followed every step Mozilla have taken from
the very start. What more can I say, but strongly suggest you should
install Firefox 2.0.0.1 and try it out? It is free as are their plug-ins
and if you don‘t like it then delete! You have nothing to loose. It
is pure logic and Mozilla will give you full support. Go for it as I
am certain you will not regret your decision. I repeat, it is the
best and you don‘t even need money to buy this jewel. I wish
you good browsing. Iain

Burzlondewen ... For at least the past couple of years, as IE's vulnerabilities were becoming more widely exposed, FireFox's superior security and stability were gaining popularity. Many people swear by Firefox.

Lately, I've enjoyed the automatic spell check feature. Whether it be this Yahoo Answers window or whatever text entry dialog box you may be using, in Firefox, any misspelled word is automatically underlined in red. Right-clicking on a misspelled word enables you to select the correct spelling for the word that Firefox presumes you wanted. Or you can just add the "new" word to your Firefox dictionary with the same simple right-click function menu.

Another thing I like about it is this: If your Firefox session crashes, the next time you launch Firefox, it will offer to restore that last session by opening all the web pages you had open when it crashed even if you used multiple tabs at the time of the crash.

Now, here's a couple of really neat things to know about the browser called Opera:
1 - If you're having problems playing a video, Opera seems to be able to handle the video playing situations that causes problems for other browsers.
2 - And here's a really great feature: Tiling. If you have multiple tabs open, you can display them all simultaneously. Obviously, the more tabs you have open, the smaller each "tile" (sub-window) will be.

Now, someone might say, "Big deal ... Internet Explorer can do that too." Ah, but that's not correct ... not at all. In Explorer, you see a non-functioning image of each tab you have open. But with Opera, each tile is actually functional which enables you to copy and paste from one tab to another with great, great ease. This feature doesn't seem to be available from any other browser that I have tried.

Good luck. I hope things work out for you.

You can have two or three web browsers installed on your pc at the same time. So many people use Firefox for general web surfing, and only use IE for the sites that don't like Firefox!
Its much safer than IE7. Mozilla works with the hacking community to fix the flaws as they are discovered instead of just ignoring them.
IE has 'Active X' which allows sites to install software. Firefox doesn't. So its harder for some kinds of malware to get on your pc.
There are tutorials on the website.
You can change the skin for free, and there are plug ins like Ad Block.

http://www.mozilla.com/ - Firefox web browser.
https://addons.mozilla.org/search.php?q=ad+block&type=A&app=firefox - Adblock Plus

Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

Nothing but Mozilla using IEEE,W3C standard so what ever u do it in mozilla oriented will work in almost all the browser, but IE won't following such rules, so its not flexible. Better always use mozilla for development and it also having JS debugger and lots more functionality, But user friendly wise IE is the best so that u can do anything with it. If ur using IE try to get IE7 its having lots more. both browsers are good the only difference is in the standard they r keeping. If u are a user I suggest IE, if you are a Developer i suggest use Mozilla Firefox

Firefox is said to be more effective in eliminating annoying pop ups as well as having the ability to configure it beyond its normal settings to enhance page load times, quicker start up etc. Plug ins and add-ons galore can create a powerful and very useful, versatile browser experience.

IE has until version 7, been a horrendous browser for popup ads and annoyances that it could not seem to stop. It wasn't as configurable as Firefox and it lacked the ability to use tabbed screens. IE 7 has added a number of new features but still, it is somewhat buggy and depending on the system configuration can be prone to crashes. I use IE 7 very rarely and usually only to test my webpages for clients...I still find it allowing annoying pop up ads and it still crashes under certain operations. It has come further tho and is closer to Firefox than the other versions have been. Perhaps some day it will be almost as good :)

Mozilla FireFox has less security threats than Internet Explorer and can use tabs, not to mention some add-ins, but I don't really see the difference between the two.

Firefox is an internet browser (like internet Explorer). Thunderbird is Mozilla's e mail shopper software (like Outlook exhibit). until IE7 got here alongside I continually used Firefox in decision to internet Explorer via fact it replace into much less vendors to errors, freezing, and assorted different issues, and maximum heavily it had the ability to open assorted tabbed internet content in one window. Now IE7 has caught up and has tabbed surfing. It additionally looks to paintings nicely in many different respects, so i'm now utilising it, yet have stored Firefox on my device as a "backup". Thunderbird is a robust e mail software, with one exception - it replace into unreliable re pictures embedded interior the text cloth. that's it sluggish provided that I used is, so updates would have solved that subject.

You only need to do a search on here to see how many people are having problems with IE7. The best thing to do is download Mozilla Firefox available from http://www.mozilla.com/ Its faster, more user friendly, easily customisable to suit your needs and no problems.
