when the old man and the little boy found out they had telekinesis that was pretty creepy not so much scary, and when the mother and her son figured out that Jack's cheese done slid off his cracker. I think it was just scary cause there are people out there who really go crazy like that and do some horrible stuff.

I heard all this hype over the years about the shining, and when I actually saw it I was really bummed! It wasn't that scary at all! I'm a big scary movie chicken, but a friedn convinced me to watch it...it's really not even scary enough to make me hide under a blanket or close my eyes...just kind of dorky! So...if you're wondering ahead of time so you can hide...don't worry about it! LOL!

The movie ( earlier version) wasn't half as scary as the book. For me,the most frightening part was when the hedge animals came to life and menaced the little boy. This was an opportunity for terror the original film missed.

I thought the part where Jack chops through the bathroom door with an axe was pretty intense. The dead people popping up was fairly scary.

Remember this was made back in the 70's when they couldn't get all grossly bloody like they do today.

When Danny was standing by the door and the letters REDRUM were written on it with blood. Danny was saying "redrum", in a really deep creepy voice. It was then that I realized that "redrum" was "murder" spelt backwards ... ACKKK!!

The part where Jack has his kid on his lap. You start to see him begin to flip out and the kid starts to notice it too.
