I have to agree, society can be more forgiving of females no matter what ethnic background they are. After all, we are only women, right?

I don't think your statement is very factual to begin with. Mexicans, just like any other people are judged on their character and behavior. I don't think that their sex has anything at all to do with whether or not they are liked. People tend to dislike those that are mean, violent or just come here to take or steal what they can get from the working people of this country. If they treat others with respect, they too will be treated with respect.

Perhaps the sentiment of which you speak could be due to the social tendency to look more kindly upon women, being the "gentle sex" and all.
