Back to question, impeachment is the removal of a government official (civil officer) from office for treason, bribery, or other high crimes or misdemeanors.

1. Resolution (inquiry of impeachment) sent to House Judiciary
Committee

2. Committe Vote- a positive vote indicates its belief that there is
strong evidence for impeachment in the House

3. House Vote- a full House votes to approve (or disapprove) a
Judiciary Committe decision to conduct ful-blown
impeachment hearing

4.The Hearing- extensive evidentiary hearings are held by the
House Judiciary Committe

5. The Report- the committe votes on articles of impeachment.
Reports supporting this find is forward to the House

6. The House Vote- the full House votes on each article of
impeachment. A simple majority vote on any article is
sufficient to send that to the Senate.

7. The Trial in the Senate- a trial is conducted on the floor of the
Senate with the House Judiciary Committee bringing the case.
The Senate, acts as the jury, with the cief justice of the United
States presiding over the trial.

8. The Senate Vote- a full Senate vote on each article of
impeachment. If there is a 2/3 vote on any article, than the
person is automatically removed from office.
