I have insomnia and i have a job where i work 11pm to 7am and by the time i get home im sleepy and ready to sleep. Before I worked the midnight shift i would be up all night, i tried smoking weed, taking muscle relaxers, pain pills, sleeping pills, working out till i was pooped, cleaning house, watching movies, drinking lots of alcohol but none of it worked, Im just a night owl. The milk and tea thing dont work, neither does taking a hot bath. I hope you find something that works for you. Good luck

I've never suffered insomnia so I am not sure how much helpful it would be but there are some ways to get some deep sleep.
1. Stretch out your limbs on a bed.
2. Take a deep breath.
3. Put on a sleep shade.
Most importantly, you'd better feel relaxed. I hope it's different tonight.

I used to have insomnia but none of the pills from the doc ever worked. They did tell me that the bedroom should only be used for 2 things, sleeping and sex. No TV, no books, no anything else. Warm milk releases an enzyme to help you sleep, caffiene free tea helps. Also act like your going to bed 1 hour before you usually do so your mind and body have time to adjust. IE: get your water, change your clothes, bathe, etc.

Take a hot bath, make sure the water is filled up to your neck. Light a couple candles, turn out the lights, put on some jazz. I actually fall asleep in the tub sometimes, it should be harmless.

Don't force yourself to get to sleep. Just get up and do other things until you feel sleepy. Read a book or watch TV.
