It said when I bought the CAI that is fits into a 99' civic ex which is exactly what I have. However when i went to install it I realized that the pipe is wayyyyy to long and doesn't fit in to my engine like it is shown in pictures. Would it be easier to cut it to the right size( if thats possible) or just all together buy a new one? Thanks for your help, im just confused b/c this is my first CAI ive ever installed.

I'd return it and get the correct one - it may have been mis-labeled, and be for a different car, or for your car with a different engine. If this produces the same result, THEN go ahead and cut it. But remember, once you cut it, you can't take it back.

Don't forget, measure twice, cut once. And if in doubt, always cut it a little long - you can always cut more off, but it's a little harder to add more on!!

Good luck!

I'd just mark it, and put it in a band saw and hack it down to size. If you don't have acces to a band saw, be real careful with a hacksaw and cut it off nice and straight. Just triple check your measurements and marking on the pipe, you don't want to end up short.

Just cut it to fit, as long as it's near the front of the grill.
