If you are from another country, do you think that your government is too big for its britches and if so, what would you do to make it better.

By big government, I mean a governing body that has offices for stupid and petty things and "oversight" committees to make sure that the funds for this and that are spent the right way, third parties, etc., etc.

Also, a government that blows $$$ on "bridges - to - nowhere" and stupid pork-barrel projects to appease lobbyists and spread the money around, you know?

Yes it would be nice just to have one representative from each state and that's it regardless of party affiliation. And states should have one rep from each county.

yes the government has gotten to big, i am from the south originally and just like any other true southerner i am a big fan of states rights (as were the founding fathers) but now with some of the far left wing nuts that have been elected to office recently the federal government will only get bigger. you see the liberals are the ones who (if you pay attention) are the ones pushing for the federal government to get involved in every aspect of your life. i leave you with a quote from Ronald Reagan 'the most frightening words you will ever hear are, I'm From the Government and im here to help".

Absolutely! The US, rather than feed its poor, house its homeless, and clean up the environment--spends big time money on salaries to all sorts of bogus management people.

Of course the US does have agencies for food, housing, and the environment--but the money is still going to the higher-ups on boards and staffs--the people's needs are not being met! This is ludicrous misuse of tax payer dollars, and truly enrages me.

I think our government clearly wastes money... and no one likes waste... it's handles trillions of dollars though, and rules 300 million people... you can't have a simple government hardly with that much money and people...

sometimes it seems like we're almost a victim of our own success, not able to keep up with all the money we generate...
