I'm just starting to watch them on DVD (season 1) and I want to know what happens in the other seasons. I know Marissa dies in a car crash, how does that happen? I want to know Who, What, When, Where and Why.

i watched some epi from season 1, dunno why i stopped watching. But i started to follow the story in Season 3.. well so, it all happened when marissa unintentionally kills someone (i'm not sure who, i think it's someone ryan knows) and she gets all depressed..then comes along johnny who shares a similar experience, so they become great friends..unfortunately johnny dies, leaving marissa devastated. She starts to look for other forms of outlet, she meets volchek, the bad boy. To shorten the story, she realises her mistake and wants to leave the O.C. to be with her dad, Jimmy. But Volchek being a egomaniac bastard keeps bumping into ryan's car, causing them to fall off a cliff. Marissa dies.
I recommend u to watch the whole of season 3 (me too!) and actually, season 4 is not bad! i've watched some on youtube, planning to buy the dvd collection. It's quite funny and entertaining. OC forever!

marissa dies in the car crash when ryan and marissa are driving back from somewhere and when they are driving volcheck (don't know how to spell his name sorry) witch is someone that marissa gets involed with around the second thrid season of the oc, he gets jelous and tries to get there attention while both driving and he pushes them over a hill or big ditch on the road and then ryan wakes up and finds her dead but has to get her out of the car as it will blow up and walks up the road holding her in his arms. hope it helps you????

I don't watch it and neither will anyone else now that it is being canceled. I've seen it a few times and I really don't like it at all. Mischa Barton has to be one of the worst actresses ever to appear on TV. Seriously, her performances were wooden and stale. I hope she's improved since she left the OC.

marissa gets run off the road by this jerk off who turns himself in after ryan gives him the proper payback. its an awesome show too bad its ending!

i saw season one way back when it premiered. great actors but the show didn't hold my attention for long. too many love circles
