My blazer will not accelerate well at all. It will slowly and I mean slowly accelerate. I could probably smoke it off the line by foot. It sputters, stalls, backfires, and reaches only 3 thousand rpms on the dash. It seems to eat a gallon of gas per mile. And is just killing me in repair bills. This is what I have replaced from what mechanics say will conquer this problem. I have replaced the whole exhaust. High flow cat and walker muffler. New EGR. New AC Delco wires w/ autolite double platinum plugs. Yesterday I replaced the spider injectors, plenum gasket, and fuel pressure regulator. If anyone knows how to fix this stalling, no accelertion slash backfiring problem, please respond. I seem to be getting broke and annoyed by this problem and these mechanics.

With 200K miles, it could be a whole lot of things. I wouldn't blame the mechanic, he is only human. I would have taken a look at ignition timing, then fuel injectors, then exhaust. I think you have covered these. Those items are all the easy ones. Now it is time to check the valve timing. It could very well be a timing chain failure. Make sure there is no restriction in the intake system.

When you did the Plugs did you do 1 plug at a time along time the wire and did you check the Gap befor putting the plugs in?
You might have a bad coil.
TimingChain? Usualy that brakes and the motor does not run.
What does it do in Park at a regular Idle? If you have the same noises then you could have trown a rod or Valve spring(s) , Valve (s) , Push Rod (s)
TimingChain Jump???? That kappens then your in trouble where you could have the teeh broken on the camshaft and or crankshaft.

confident and no. Your truck has a 4L60E trans which will bolt to a 350 yet its a working laptop or workstation controlled unit and once you turn the 350 engine interior the workstation will no longer paintings. except your getting a greater moderen ninety's style or greater moderen EFI 350 with its workstation and all engine wiring. in case your swapping in an older carb'ed 350, you will p.c. a $800 stand alongside transmission workstation administration unit to paintings that 4L60E trans. greater much less high priced to change the trans out to a 700r4, 2 hundred-4r, th-350, th-4 hundred

i own a repair shop, and i know whats wrong with it,because i own one of them also, you need a new timing chain and gears in it ,its not timing its self at all,it cant, the piston is starting down before it fires,i have did so many of these i cant even count them any more, you don't have many miles left on it before it jumps timing ,id say its close to that point now if it hasn't already done it,but have it changed, that's whats causing this, what i cant understand is why didn't they catch this, its one of the easiest things to diagnose on those vehicles, good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,PS you described all the symptoms so well it spelled its self out, this is exactly what they do,good luck.

Fuel Filter. Maybe pump. You have a fuel supply issue buddy. Filter is easy. Pump is a PITA, it's in the tank.

I think I would look for a different mechanic. Try one who guarantees his work. Do not tell them what is wrong. Let them trouble shoot the problem.
