Yeah, people sometimes just find it hard to express anger in a good way so they do something destructive like swearing or vandalism instead of journaling or talking it out.

They exist for the same reason that other words exist - people made them up to express their feelings, thoughts, etc. They're not necessarily "bad"; they just carry negative connotations in our society.
