I'm pretty sure dogs & cats do... -I'm not so sure about all the other critters we share the planet with. Since most brains rest in pretty much the same way- it wouldn't surprise me if your cat dreams about chasing a mouse, & that mouse dreams about escaping your cat. :)

How do you define dreams?. A nice story or a short clippings of incidents. In either of the things, it has not been verified that animals have dreams. May be some animal that display a good degree of intelligence like Dolphins etc.,

Yes, many do. (Probably all the furry ones, for example). I remember reading about mice that had been taught to go through a maze to find cheese. Their brains had been scanned while doing this, and then again when they were asleep. Turns out the scan during their sleep was identical to the one in their waken state, apparently proving that they were dreaming about the maze :)

My cat does. Sometimes she even meows and groans in her sleep.
Check this out: Animals have complex dreams and are able to retain and recall long sequences of events while they are asleep, Massachusetts Institute of Technology researchers report.

Yes. Watch your dog next time he is in a deep sleep. You can see the same REM stage of sleep that we humans go through.
