Spy-ware, Ad-ware and Viruses are all different things. Go to a search engine and type in Spybot Search and Destroy, install, update it, run it and you should be good. For ad-ware a good one is at www.lavasoft.com SE Personal Edition. Remember always update the file definitions before running. If that doesn't work well, it is indeed a hijacker virus, update your virus. If you need a good free virus protect AVG is a nice one. After updating disconnect from the Internet. Run virus scan and delete, Reboot reconnect some viruses as soon as you scan replicate themselves through your connection. High Speed especially.

Your computer has been hijacked by SpyDawn Or SpywareQuake. this is a very dangerus hijacker
now-a-days and can damage your computer.
If your computer has been infected with SpyDawn Or SpywareQuake and hijacked by the http://spydawn.com/
then your computer is in a real danger because it does transfer back and forth information from the infected computer which makes it a potential for data theft.
SpyDawn Symptoms:-
User's homepage is changed to pestcapture.com or iesafetywarning.net or to other unfamiliar websites.
Warning messages such as "Virus Alert", "Your Computer is Infected", "Security Alert" Trojan-Spy.win32@mx or
Spyware.Cyberlog-X infections are displayed.
Automatic download and installation of a rogue antispyware product. Presence of blinking icons next to computer clock. The icons can generate balloon messages claiming infection. The icons usually looks like a circle with a (?) or a 'danger' triangle with an exclamation mark inside.
I got all the information about this spyware from the below link and there you can also remove it by using the manual and automatic process, automatic process detects as spywarequake..

We got infected with this pain in the butt spydawn. I went to all of the sites that promote removing this virus, but none of them were sufficient enough to remove it. The only thing I could do to get rid of it, is to back up my computer to a previous date. It has worked so far with absolutely no problems. Hope this helps.

I am having this problem with SpyDawn, too. After looking around, I found this resource which seems to address it:
http://remove-spydawn.com/spydawn-removal.html
Since I cannot afford to buy good scanner at the moment, I am going to try the Google Pack first. If it doesn't work, I will consider buying XoftspySE.
Good Luck!

SpyDawn is a new rogue antispyware program from the creators of VirusBurst, SpywareQuake, etc. This infection creates fake security alerts in your taskbar as well as installing a fake antispyware application called SpyDawn.
We have a removal guide prepared here:

Use PrevX1 (free download) to remove this malware. DON'T fall for the "purchase the software" route - it's a con and you will lose your money.
