KB is short for kilobyte. When used to decribe data storage, KB usually represents 1,024 bytes. When used to describe data transfer rates, KB represents 1,000 bytes.
MB When spelled MB, short for megabyte
(1,000,000 or 1,048,576 bytes depending on the context).
When spelled Mb, short for megabit.
GB 2 to the 30th power (1,073,741,824) bytes. One gigabyte is equal to 1,024 megabytes. Gigabyte is often abbreviated as G or GB.

bit = binary digit = a 1 or a 0
1 byte = 8 bits
KB = kilobytes = 1024 bytes
MB = megabytes = 1024KB
GB = gigabytes = 1024MB
TB = terabytes = 1024GB
Capitalization matters. KB is kilobytes, but Kb is kilobits, or 1024 bits. Sometimes they use 1000 instead of 1024, especially when advertising hard disk space or internet bandwidth, but 1024 is usually the correct definition.

byte = 8 bits
kilobyte(kb) = 1024 bytes = 8192 bits
megabyte(mb) = 1024 kilobytes = 1048756 bytes = 8 388 608 bits
gigabyte(gb) = 1024 megabytes = 1048756 kilobytes = 1 073 741 824 bytes= 8 589 934 592 bits
terabyte(tb) = 1024 gigabytes
petabyte(pb)=1024 terabytes

A byte is a unit of measure for digital information. A single byte contains eight consecutive bits, and is capable of storing a single ASCII character, like "h".
A kilobyte (KB) is 1,024 bytes, not one thousand bytes as might be expected. This odd number results from the fact that computers use binary (base two) math, instead of a decimal (base ten) system.
Computer storage and memory is often measured in megabytes (MB). A medium-sized novel contains about 1MB of information. 1MB is 1,024 kilobytes, or 1,048,576 (1024x1024) bytes, not one million bytes. Again, this number results from the fact that computers use binary math.
Similarly, one gigabyte (GB) is 1,024MB, or 1,073,741,824 (1024x1024x1024) bytes. A terabyte (TB) is 1,024GB; 1TB is about the same amount of information as all of the books in a large library, or roughly 1,610 CDs worth of data. A petabyte (PB) is 1,024TB.

Dont worry buddy.........KB is the smallest in size terms in comp. language.
MB is one level above it 1024 KB = 1MB
and 1024MB = 1GB
nowdays theres a thing known as TB terabyte
1024 GB = 1Tb
MB is Megabyte
KB is Kilobyte
Gb is Gigabyte

Conventionally
k = kilo = 1000
m = mega = 1000*1000
g = giga = 1000*1000*1000
In the world of computers, you need to replace 1000 with 1024
now b tends to get confusing, The convention is that 'B' would stand for bytes and 'b' would stand for bits where 8 bits = 1 byte
We use bytes to describe storage space, like Hard Disc or CDs etc
We use bits to describe bandwidth, download speed etc.
Hope it helps!
