I found out with my laptop that turn it off and remove the battery. Then put the battery back in and turn it on. It sort of resets it. And of course you know about the reset where you use a straightened out paper clip? Some laptops have that. Check your owners manual. Some you just hold the on button down for 10 or 15 seconds and it will go off, then turn it on again.
