I just came home and found someone parked in my parking spot in my apartment building. Each space is marked with the apartment number and there is ample unmarked spots for visitors, but further away. I paid a parking fee when I signed the lease. I am not happy! It is after midnight where I live. I put a note up by the bulletin board by the entrance, asking this person not to do it again. Do you think that is too much? It is the first time, and normally I would let it go. I parked in visitor parking but I'm worried because we are supposed to get a bad snowstorm during the night and they push all the snow to the visitor parking! What would you do?

The rental company will only respond to emergency situations such as fire and flood after business hours. I doubt this will be considered an emergency. If I insist they come for a non-emergency, I can be charged $100.

If it's the first time, write a nice note and politely remind them that it's your spot and say you'd appreciate it if they could park in visitors parking. Then, if they do it again, slash their tires, spray paint their bumpers and burn their car.

For some reason, they may not have known - maybe there was some emergency in which they didn't notice the marked spot - you never know.
But I would leave a "nice" note just to inform them that these are marked parking spots and that you are assuming they may not have known - then I would leave it under their windshield wiper.
Second, I would get the lic. plate number - for future use and see if it happens again - then if it does, take it to the landlord/manager. PS- the plate number might also come in handy in case the person ends up being an idiot.

If its your space and you've paid for it you have every right to be upset. I would leave a civil note on their windshield asking them not to do it again. If they continue, leave another more threatening note saying something like "your number plate has been recorded and any further offences will be delt with". I'd also first ask the person-in-charge what to do (ie landlord/building admin...the person you pay for the parking). Hope it works out.

Since you are paying for your parking spot, no matter what time of night it is, call the apartment manager. It is their job to handle this. They can have the car towed.

CALL A TOW TRUCK AGENCY AND HAVE THEM TOWED! IF NOT THEY WILL DO IT AGAIN. MAKE THEM LEARN THEIR LESSON. I caught somebody parking in my spot one time, they looked around really sneaky like and then took my spot. I had them towed and it never happened again.

What I would do is, ask the office if there is a tow company or procedure that you can do afterhours when this situation occurs.
