Lately my suckerfish has been acting weird. He gets “panicky” swims around the tank really fast, up and down side to side, and then stops all of a sudden. He freeze, kind of, floats around the tank not moving and turns a ghostly white. I thought he was dead a couple of times. After a few moments he recovers and then goes about sucking the tank.
Any ideas about what is wrong and how I can fix it?

Excreting erratic behavior? I'd like to see that! I think you mean exhibiting...sorry, I have a bad habit of correcting people. If you are concerned, treat your tank w/ Jungle Buddies antibiotic...it's good stuff and has cured outbreaks of disease in my tank before...it's cheap too!

maybe check your water parameters (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite) and see if theres anything up there. often a heightened level of ammonia (anything over 0) will cause strange behaviour in fish as they're getting burnt by the ammonia, which HURTS!

what kind of suckerfish is he? plec? oto? loach?
