I think a lot of Americans like to constantly eat stuff they know and like. That's why places like Applebee's, Chili's, and TGI Friday's are very successful despite having uninspired menus and mediocre food. There are people who think going to Outback is a night on the town despite the fact I can do it anywhere in America.

I live in New York, I can get anything I want any time I want Thai, Chianess, Mexican, Portical, and so on

the new ones are New Zealand, and Ausies are becoming big

I have been around Europe, London is getting better, but if you are in Northern Italy, you get Northen Italian food, South the same way

France, and I love French cooking, is alomst the same way, there is bascally 2 types Modern and classical, modern is a nice fussian of new and old, using Asia as a help

every one I know who went to Japan said unless you are rich, you are eating Japness food including fish for breakfast

So I am not sure what you mean, I have been all over the US, mostly cities I do know that makes a differnce, but the Chicago has many diffent type, San Fran, even more

New Orleans I only ate Cagin, I love Cagin, but there were more types of cagin, so that is not fair

I could go on about Maimi, and Vermont, and DC, Seattle, Boston

over all we have much more diverty then Europe, and the dude who said all we eat is Applebee's is crazy, yes people eat crap, but they know it is not that good. Matter a fact what I like to do is take my friends from Europe just to the Outback, and they sit there in Awe of the steak, (beef). Then I take them to a Lugars, and they almost faint

so I have no idea of what you are talking about

Depends on the area you live..is there a high demand for ethnic foods?

If you live in a big city you most likely have a bigger variety of restaurants. Why not head out for the long weekend to try something new?

I agree I think that there should be more ethnic restaurants. I live in Salt Lake and there is not much to eat her unless you like the basics.
