Any critic worth their salt sees several hundred movies a year. When you watch that many movies, bad stories and lousy acting can be hard to bear. People wonder why critics can't accept more movies just for their entertainment value, but it's probably because they have seen similar movies that were done much better. Sometimes they seem to take a lot of pleasure out of panning a movie, but how can you blame them when they are forced to sit through crap like Epic Movie or Norbit when they've recently seen movies like Blood Diamond and Letters from Iwo Jima.

I will give credit to the studios for not holding press screenings of a lot of their crap movies. I know critics rant about this practice, but I don't think it's worth anyone's time for the studio to serve up these movies just for the critics to shred - especially since most of the people who watch these movies could care less that the critics are saying to begin with.

We don't all hate to love movies...only the bad critics intentionally go looking for something to hate. Most of us want to have a good time.

I don't think critics hate films I think most are just snobbs and don't stop to consider the entertainment value of a film, particularly when it comes to comedies.

If you're trying to decide on a movie to see based on reviews I'd use www.movies.com. This site gives a critics grade and a site-users grade for each film.

Because there haven't been many noteworthy movies in the past year.

It's easy to hate something that's badly at fault, and a lot of newer releases have been.

Envy and jealousy - they wish they were talented enough to MAKE a movie!

Remember, those who can, do. And those who can't, criticize!
