will they do good in a 5 gallon fishtank with some plants and decorations to be in..?

the females should be good, you may have issues because it could be a little tight, but if you plant it well they should be fine after a few days as long as you keep the water conditions tip top. which means about 78° to 80°F, a good filter and monitoring the levels of everything, and water changes when needed.

however like mentioned above the male may cause some problems. even if he doens't attack uninterested females the constant flaring and showing for the girls will wear him out until he's sick and dies. the girls may gang up on him. or if a female goes after him for mating and the alpha doens't like it she could kill them all.

There could be trouble between the females.If the male wants to mate and the female he chooses isn't interested,he may kill her. Sometimes the females may fight,probably because they are competing for the male's attention

the only time you can put bettas together is when you want them to breed. Otherwise they will fight to the death. Another name for betta is Siamese fighting fish and there is a reason for that.
