45) Let x be # of adults, and 23-x be the # of children
4x + (23-x) = 80
3x + 23 = 80
3x = 57
x = 18
(23-18) = 5 children attended the play.

27) Let x = # of children,
Let 50 + x = # of adults,
Let 4x = # of seniors
4x + 12(50+x) + 7(4x) = 1920
4x + 600 + 12x + 28x = 1920
44x = 1920-600 = 1320
x = 30
30 children, 80 adult, 120 senior

45) i think 4 children attended the play 4 times $1= $4.00 and 19 left people were adult 19 times $4= $76.00 which adds up to total ticket sales 76 dollars plus 4 = 80 dollars and also people 19 plus 4= 23 total!

27)children tickets:30, adults tickets:80, and senior tickets:120
Where adults tickets are 50 more than the childrens and also senior tickets are four times the number of children tickets.
children tickets cost: $4 multiply by 30 =120 dollars
adult tickets cost: $12 multiply by 80=960 dollars
senior tickets cost $7 multiply by 120=840 dollars
so... 120+960+840=1920 dollars!

45)
4x+1(23-x)=80

Adult - 19 tickets
Children - 4 tickets

27)
4x+12(50+x)=7(4x)
Children - 30 tickets
Adult - 80 tickets
Senior Citizen - 120 tickets

tickets: A + C = 23
money: 4A + 1C = 80

multiply 1st equation by 4 and subtract 2nd:

4A + 4C = 92
4A + 1C = 80
---------------------
.........3C = 12
C = 4
A = 19

Do the other the same way.
