Hopefully....fear because I am finally going.....and then acceptance. Lastly a rush of peacefulness and my mind will become calm as I go. Again...I hope?

dying of a terminal illness is usually like being very tired. Sometimes that is from the drugs ans sometimes that is from the illness. The person becomes more tired and many things that use to interest them no longer do. As they get closer to death, they start to focus on just family members and very close friends.
There is a difficulty with short term memory formation, and so they may seem to lose contact with those around them. But a lot of times the person can remember things from the past, like when there children were young, and will enjoy hearing about those times. They don't have to make any new memories, just recall the ones they already have. At the very end, they might just have comfort in the voice of someone they love near them just talking to them.
On the not so nice side, sometimes a person will get rather ugly acting to the family members. There can be a number of issues of fear and frustration. The patients know that the loved ones will never leave them and will sometimes use that relationship to act out that pain. some people tolerate that better then others. There are so many differnt changes for the patient and each of the family members that it is impossible to say that it will go this way or that. I hope this helped.

Most people ask for pardon and turn to accept the idea of the existence of a God they have never believed in.

More spiritual awareness. My loved one who was in hospice ... well he was having troubles. He claimed that he saw "Pirate Shadows" lurking on his walls. This man was very educated, an engineer, and very logical. He missed Church often; but insisted everyone go on Easter. Then the Hospice Pastor listened to him confess his sins, and he got a sort of "Anointing of the Sick" (Sacrament) ... then those Pirates went away. I think he died in peace.
That's all that's been revealed to me through my life experiences. Hope it helps you.

I can't speak officially but in my opinion we either fight it and have tons of regrets in our life. Or we come to accept death and look back on our life and think......wow I did pretty good.
I had a near death experience & it was incredabably peaceful.

If I could answer that I wouldn't be able to answer this question. Only God knows and those who have gone on before. Someday we will all know.

I don't know... I haven't died yet. How would you expect anyone here to know that?
