follow the Golden Rule. Treat them the same or better than you'd expect in return.

There are sooo many different ways to show respect!!! My kids all say "yes ma'am and yes sir" "no ma'am and no sir".. that's just one of many. Opening doors for people (not just the people that you're with, even a stranger). Basically, common courtesy. Just remember.. the person that you show respect for today could be the same person who may save your life tomorrow!!

Simply by doing what they ask of you...if it's to leave them alone, then do that. If they want your company, see if you can make some time...I'm starting to wonder if people really respect each other anymore....some do, but they seem to be few and far between...

Only if you want to. I don't have to respect anybody if I choose not to. So I pick and choose who I respect by being nice to them and listening to them.

If they are older than I, I will open the door for them and let them enter first.

It depends on who it is.
You would show it differently for your parents then you would for a mentor or a boss.
